Hiring trend after COVID-19 : Who will be the biggest beneficiaries of jobs

For Job seekers , students and People intending to switch careers.

It is expected that the effect of COVID-19 will force companies to make a dramatic turn towards digitalization. Hence Hiring pattern is going to take a paradigm shift. Companies & Investors will more likely to do a digital transformation of the companies to do business in more agile and resilient ways giving flexibility and empowerment to all its stakeholders and not just customers.

Digital marketing :

During and post COVID-19 the digital marketers are have become much more important the before. We have witnessed a kind of shift in people’s behavior to do the things digitally what they used to do in person. Especially the businesses operating in the B2C segment will really need digital marketers to capture this change and convert it into an opportunity. Anyways,DM has been an underrated function in many of the companies. While big MNC has a capacity of spending thousands of euros but that’s not the case with other SME’s. With the new surge in digitalization and ease of finding customers online more than ever before, companies will find it economical to increase the budget and manpower of its digital marketing sections to widen its customer base and increasing sales by bringing more traffic and focusing on conversion rate optimization (CRO).

Cloud Computing :

The adoption of cloud technology will be a kind of essential for every business. The COVID-19 has definitely acted as an accelerator in generating the demand. Companies would like to move their On-prem infrastructure to cloud and would like to empower not only to themselves but everyone from employees, customer, sales channels, regulators and investors .it is believed that companies will tend to move not only their data but all major pieces of business including supply chain process, sales & marketing, and a lot of others.

Companies such as AWS or Microsoft are likely to plan to fulfill the surge of demand of cloud migration by either increasing the capacity or building up new data centers to provide maximum uptime to clients, which requires continuous monitoring, processing and maintenance.

On the other hand I.T. outsourcing companies will try to accelerate the development of cloud-based applications and build multi-cloud data management solutions on a hybrid platform

All in All , People such as developers, architects, designers of cloud systems, data Centre engineers, System data administrators, Cloud-based app developers, Cloud Infrastructure maintenance engineers may find more opportunities here. (Over a period of time NOT immediately).

Cyber Security 
At many places at is still at a nascent stage and companies are likely to invest money to take it from reactive security to proactive security. One of the dirty impact of COVID-19 is the surge in cybercrimes and data leaks.

People working from remote and accessing the company’s data and application make it vulnerable to cyber attackers. With the shift in the working style and significant migration to digitalized business. A need for cybersecurity experts is likely to be seen in the future especially in areas such as Endpoint security, network security, and cloud security.

Remote workers getting to their organization systems from individual devices at home make it simpler for programmers to break cybersecurity.

DevOps :
Post COVID-19 companies will try to look closer to improve their operating margins by bringing efficiency in the I.T. teams or doing faster delivery of software. Brings DevOps or enhancing the DevOps team could be a wiser option. One can see a lot of action happening in this space

No Code/Low code Platforms

Although there is no concrete evidence related to this claim but a general consensus is that more number of small and medium enterprises will adopt No code platforms to embrace or enhance the digitalization.

These platforms generally allow non-developers and non-technical users to build applications and

Integrate with databases, web services, or APIs to connect data. It is widely assumed that through these platforms wave of digitalization will take non-developers and non-technical people in a place which was earlier considered a developers territory. Many SME will start using these platforms and would look for people having experience or working knowledge of the same. Few examples include MS PowerApps, Nintex process platform, Salesforce Platform.

Biotech/Pharmacology research –

Just like 1920’s unleashed a new era of the automobile industry, in the same way post-COVID-19 period is considered to unleash a new era of research both in Biotech and pharmacology. Many investors would consider investing in these two fields as their top choices. Research scientists must be top on the chain of hiring in these industries followed by the supporting staff be it in quality control, product management or regulatory compliance.

These are just a few examples and there may be many other skills/technologies or platforms which will be a big beneficiary. This analysis is based on my knowledge and experience. People may have a different viewpoint on that. People not liking the above analysis may just ignore and pardon me for it as we all are working toward a common goal of helping each other on this difficult times.
